New York based photographer, stylist, and videographer, Alexis Brooks, has photographed, styled and filmed an array of talented people in destinations throughout the world including China, London, Kenya, New Zealand, Los Angeles, and Paris. She has a degree in photography from the London College of Fashion and received further training at “Pop Magazine” and “The Face,” where she was able to gain some of her first on-set experiences with “POP’s” Editor, Katie Grand.
Alexis’ photography and fashion work took her from London to New York City, where she assisted and developed different aesthetics of fashion styling with Joe McKenna, Arianne Phillips, Andrew Richardson, and the photographers they work with. It was at this time that Alexis learned how to take a designer’s vision off the runway and give the garment a character and fantasy world through an editorial photo shoot.
Transitioning into a different aspect of fashion’s editorial world, Alexis became a publicist for renowned designer Yohji Yamamoto, overseeing Yamamoto’s presentations during Paris Fashion Week and styling several catalogues of his collections.
In 2008, Alexis began working with moving image while in New Zealand, collaborating with boutique creative and production house, Special Problems, as the Director of Photography on their four-part “Night Project” reality series. She spent the next two years traveling between New Zealand and the United States, working on a range of music videos and TV commercials with Special Problems and their affiliates.
Merging her styling and camera experience, Alexis continues to evolve her skills in both disciplines.
Alexis currently works in Los Angeles and New York.
